The Orange Panthers celebrated homecoming tonight with a decisive 45-14 win over the Godinez Grizzlies.
Senior wide receiver and Impact Player of the Game, Syrus Collins exploded for three scores. He had two touchdown receptions of 5 and 33 yards from Jason Wilkerson in the first half. Collins added to his scoring frenzy with a 55 yard touchdown run early in the second half to essentially put the Grizzlies away. And if that wasn’t enough, Collins added two more points with a subsequent conversion catch as well.
The Panthers improve their record to 5-0 on the season as they prepare to open league play against Loara next week. The Panthers’ 5-0 record is a stark turnaround for 3rd year Head Coach Robert Pedroza who began his tenure with the Panthers 0-10. “We need to continue improving our play, and eliminate common mistakes we’re making. When we do that, we can be as good as we want to be.”
